Dutch composer Nico Huijbregts titled his portrait album after Falsche Tango—a vivid and eccentric piece full of character, commissioned in 2007 by the Performing Arts Fund for Duo MARES. The title captures both the spirit of the work and the playful unpredictability that runs through much of Huijbregts’ music.
