Marko Kassl is a remarkably versatile and creative accordionist whose repertoire spans a wide range of styles—after all, life is too short to be confined by boundaries.
In addition to performing classical and contemporary works, he is deeply committed to expanding the chamber music repertoire for the accordion.
With Black Pencil, he explores over a thousand years of music history, from medieval pieces to contemporary compositions.
With Firasso, he focuses on the trio’s original works, drawing inspiration from tango, klezmer, Balkan music, and jazz.
Through Duo Mares, he continues to enrich the repertoire for viola and accordion, a combination full of expressive possibilities.
He also collaborates regularly with orchestras, contemporary music ensembles, and dance and theatre companies.
In addition to his performance career, he leads an accordion class at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold.
